Social Workers Break Barriers in Healthcare
In celebration of Social Work Month, Rush Social Work Grand Rounds & the Center for Health and Social Care Integration are co-hosting a webinar featuring Jorge Delva, PhD, MSW, and Dean of the Boston University School of Social Work, and LaCinda Jones, LISW-S, Senior Social Worker with the VA, who will discuss national initiatives exploring the role of social workers in improving health and health equity.

This webinar will include an overview of the Coalition for Social Work and Health initiatives, including a national campaign to elevate and expand social work’s impact by increasing awareness among stakeholders about social work roles, expertise, and value in healthcare.

For more than 125 years, social workers have partnered with patients, families, and communities to improve health and wellbeing. However, there is much work to be done to achieve health equity. It is imperative to leverage social workers as part of the solution.

Learning objectives:
1. Interpret historical and current context of social work practice within health care
2. Identify ways that social workers improve health and advance health equity
3. Describe national initiatives led by the Coalition for Social Work and Health and opportunities for getting involved

Note: Live attendance is limited to 300 people. The webinar recording and slides will be sent out to everyone who registers and posted at https://www.chasci.org/chasci-community-webinars.
